Best Purim ever!!!

I know Purim fest was long ago (more than a month ago), but we had such a great time that I thought it would be unfair that my lack of muse should get in the way.
This Purim we had a visitor from the USA - Andrew, a skilled kayaker and an extremely friendly guy, who paddled with Yossale and Gilad back on the Futalefue in Chile. He "was in the neighborhood" (Uganda ;-)) and stopped by.
We hosted him with the best hospitality we can offer and took him to the Jordan to get to know the river and the river gang.
We took the opportunity to invite newcomers to the river - Avinoam and Nava from Daniel Rowing Center and Israel from Optimist. Rami Gil joined us as well and we had a tight schedule: learning river skills at the day, friday evening dinner with Gilad's family and partying all night at a Purim party in Kibutz Hulata which was hilarious. Some people drank too much and had troubles waking up in the morning...
The next day, the river was flooded (80-90 cms), all muddy and full with logs, trees and other floating obstacles, so we focused on basic river skills with Avinoam - Eddy in, eddy out, crossing the current, ferrying, scouting etc..

Down in Ateret eddy, we've met the rest of the kayakers and decided that the water level was too high to paddle and it's better to drive further north for the playspot near kibutz Amir, that's running only on high water. There we surfed a little bit, Avinoam kept practicing although the wave was a bit low and didn't hold on to the kayaks.

The last day, most of the paddlers drove back home, leaving just Andrew (who was baptized in the river as Nahum), Gilad and myself. We paddled down the entire river, at water level of about 65cms, the highest level I ever ran. It was exhausting, scary, demanding, but great!!! I had such a good time and Gilad led us through safe lines.

Rami made a short video of the entire weekend:

And last thing, I must quote Nahum:
"This is the best Purim I've had (and his 1st),
Only sex, no shower, 24 hour, full power!!!"
